Nanostructured materials are materials that have been engineered to have a nanoscale structure. In optoelectronics, nanostructured materials are used in lasers, light-emitting diodes, and other optical devices. In biomedical engineering, nanostructured materials are used as drug delivery systems and biosensors. Nanostructured materials are also being studied for their potential use in energy storage and conversion. For example, nanostructured materials can be used to store energy from solar cells and convert it into electricity.
